Marielita Farm

We are the voice of those who have no voice

In a corner of the world where animal life is often ignored, Granja Marielita stands as a refuge of hope. There, animals rescued from abuse and abandonment—such as guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, geese, chickens, and a dog—find not only food, but also love, dignity, and a second chance.

This farm is not just a physical place; it's a symbol of resilience, compassion, and humanity. Keeping it running costs more than 800,000 pesos a day in food alone, not including other expenses. Despite the difficulties, what prevails here is respect for life.

From EAN University, and as part of the Structure of Complex Thought course, a group of students decided to take action, installing security cameras and adapting spaces to protect these creatures from threats such as theft or poisoning.

This project is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15: Life on Land

This goal seeks to protect, restore, and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, as well as halt biodiversity loss. Granja Marielita is a living example of how this SDG can be achieved through citizen action, solidarity, and love for animals.

Respect for life has no species

In Marielita, we are the voice of those who cannot defend themselves. Because every life, regardless of species, matters.

They don't have a voice, but we do, and we're here to speak for them.
